AEW has a big week ahead of them, as they bring the second annual Winter is Coming. This huge episode of AEW Dynamite has matches like Bryan Danielson vs. Hangman Page for the AEW World Heavyweight Championship, Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb III and more announced. However, Tony Khan is making sure that fans know that some big debuts are coming in the next few weeks.
Tony Khan Promises Big Shows And Bigger Debuts For The Coming Weeks In AEW
While speaking with DAZN, Khan would promote Winter Is Coming, but assure fans that big cards and surprises are coming even beyond this major event. Khan would be quoted saying the following.
“I’m more than aware that there’s a number of free agents out there, wrestlers I admire too, but I’ve got to say that you just have to keep watching over these next few weeks and not just ‘Winter is Coming.’ There’s the ‘Holiday Bash’ special from Greensboro, North Carolina, that includes the Christmas Day ‘Rampage.’ We have the last ever episode on TNT followed by the debut episode on TBS. There’s ‘Battle of the Belts’ coming in January. I want AEW to run shows that you just can’t miss, and I think these next few weeks are going to be really exciting for fans of wrestling.”
A New Batch Of Free Agents Are Going To Be Available Soon
With Ring of Honor now on hiatus until April 2022, their entire roster is now officially free of commitments. Some names from there could find their way to AEW, with major names like Josh Woods & Dalton Castle having potential to show up – and Brody King all but confirmed to join his tag team partner Malakai Black.
We’re also coming up on talent names like John Morrison, Tegan Nox, and Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott being out of their non-compete clauses, which will expire around the start of February. Kairi Hojo is a free agent again, with her WWE contract coming to an end. There is a lot of talent floating about in wrestling right now, making anything possible. Even names like Windham & Adam Scherr remain free agents, long after their WWE releases.
