Rapper Lil Mosey, otherwise known as Lathan Moses Stanley Echols, has come forward and reportedly claimed that the victim involved in his rape allegation had gotten into consensual sex with him in the past.
Rapper Lil Mosey Reportedly Claims He Had ‘Consensual Sex’ With His Alleged Rape Victim
According to reports, the rapper claims that consensual sex had taken place on two occasions. One had occurred at a New Year’s party, while the other happened in a car.
And it was during this second time, on the same night, that led to the rape allegations, which the victim alleged to have occurred in a cabin.
According to TMZ, the court documents stated the following: “The rapper claims he met the alleged victim back in the day at one of his concerts, and they eventually engaged in consensual sexual activity … multiple times.”
If these comments are taken to be true, then they are very significant for the following reasons. First of all, the rapper had been charged with rape in April following accusations that she woke up to the rapper and another man on her.
But given that Lil Mosey pleaded not guilty, this evidence could be very crucial. After all, if it does suggest that consensual sex had occurred, there is a possibility that rape might not have happened.
That is why the rapper is reportedly wanting the judge to consider this new evidence. As of now, it is not clear whether or not this new evidence is going to be accepted.
But with a hearing scheduled to take place next month, this new piece of evidence could be crucial if Lil Mosey wants to avoid punishment.
Nevertheless, social media was not too kind towards the rapper. People felt that irrespective of prior consent, the fact of the matter is that each rape allegation should be judged on its individual merits.
Thus, just because there was consent on a previous occasion, does not necessarily mean that there was at the moment of the allegation. One person on Twitter wrote: “Prior consent is not ongoing consent.
“If I let someone borrow my car once or twice it doesn’t mean they can just take my car whenever they feel like it afterwards. Why don’t these guys understand that?”
