When it comes to legends of professional wrestling, few men stand out more than Sting. From his time in WCW as a hyped up surfer or a brooding loner, to holding down the main event scene in TNA for years – Sting has been a favorite for years. This has led to many rivals and partners, and sometimes they’re the same. This is the case of Sting and the Japanese wrestling legend, Keiji Muto (aka The Great Muta), and with both men still active in 2022 – it’s not impossible to see them sharing the ring again soon.
Keiji Muto Wonders What Kind Of Chemistry He’d Have With Sting In 2022
While speaking with Sports Illustrated ahead of the joint show between pro wrestling NOAH and NJPW on January 8th, Muto would instead focus on Sting for a moment. He’d say the following about potentially working with Sting once again.
“It has been a long time, but I wonder what sort of chemistry we would make now. If that can contribute to the future, it means something. There may be an opportunity since he made his return.”
This is something that would be cool to see for fans, and not even the first thing Muto worked with AEW. He was a judge for the AEW World Championship match between Cody Rhodes & Chris Jericho, and already has a theme ready to go. The last time Sting & Muto shared a ring was back in 2004, when they defeated Diamond Dallas Page & Satoshi Kojima.
Most of their time together came in the 80’s and 90’s, where they met many times in the NWA and NJPW. However, with both men still actively wrestling? There is no reason to not have them get back into the mix. People like seeing legends, and love seeing legends used properly.
