Fans of Meghan Markle have hit back at an article which attempted to put her against Kate Middleton.
Meghan Markle’s Fans Slam Article Comparing Her To Kate Middleton-‘Sexist, Hateful And Creepy’
The article, in question, had attempted to compare how Meghan and Kate have been behaving during their time in the Royal family.
And as part of that piece, it was suggested that Kate was very graceful in comparison to Meghan who was anything but that as shown by her Royal struggles.
Naturally, there was a feeling that this attempted to square off the pair against each other in order to see who came out on top. As part of that sentiment, Kate was praised for being very graceful and elegant.
But in an official statement by Royal expert Omid Scobie, he questioned the need to make continuous comparisons between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton.
He said: “I don’t understand this constant need to use op-eds about the Duchess of Cambridge’s 40th to sling mud at women that have nothing to do with her or her birthday.
“The language in this vile article is sexist, hateful and creepy.” This begs the question, what made Omar feel like this. Well, in the said article, Meghan was called out for her claims that she had suicidal thoughts in her Oprah Winfrey interview.
Regardless of what you think about Meghan, the very fact of the matter is that she was going through a hard time. As such, her comments should have been interpreted in light of that very context.
This was reflected in the responses that followed on social media. A significant majority of people continued to back Meghan and denounce the claims that she was in any way inferior to Kate.
One fan wrote: “Wow – that article is shockingly hateful. And so glaringly exaggerated in its compliments to Catherine – it’s almost as if it mocks her too.”
This sentiment is something that we have become used to, as there will always be comparisons between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. With that firmly in mind, the only possible thing to do is ignore the background noise.
