There is becoming a shortage of top independent wrestling stars these days, and this is due to companies like All Elite Wrestling (AEW) & WWE signing anyone who gains notoriety. The next on this list is Mance Warner. Multiple sources close to AEW indicate that at their recent episode of Dynamite in Cleveland, Ohio where Mance Warner was backstage speaking to AEW officials.
Who Is Mance Warner?
Having made his name as part of Major League Wrestling (MLW), he has become one of the rising stars of the scene. What has especially risen him to the top of the game is his excellent feud with Jimmy Havoc in MLW. They have spent about half a year punishing each other in increasingly violent deathmatch scenarios, with it seemingly having ended on MLW Fusion #94 when they faced off in a No Ropes Barbed Wire Match.
He has also earned some recognition due to this ability to cut very entertaining promos, usually about hitting the pay window and downing some light beers. He has drawn some light comparisons to Stone Cold Steve Austin due to this as well as his brawl heavy style. With only four years in the wrestling industry, he is still a relatively untapped talent with a ton of upside. He could be a major star. In addition to his time in MLW, he is also a top name in Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) and is the current All American Wrestling (AAW) Champion.
Why Is AEW Interested?
AEW has shown a preference to having colorful characters in addition to strong action, it makes sense why Mance Warner would be on their radar. He is someone who could fit into many roles, be it in a tag team with a rival turned friend like Jimmy Havoc, or a singles star. AEW is also sitting on a potentially fantastic hardcore division with people like Darby Allin, Jimmy Havoc, Joey Janela, and Jon Moxley. Adding in someone else with that skillset like Mance would boost the appeal of a potential division around that style.
Mance Warner just has near unlimited potential. He is the type who is ready for a bigger stage, and if AEW offers him that, he will thrive.
