AEW Dynamite is just about to finish up, after MJF just got thrown into a pool! Kenny Omega and Hangman Page being interviewed by Schiavone. Tag champs obviously quite happy. Tony asks Kenny about PAC. Kenny says that PAC is human excrement and he’s been talking with management, he’ll get his rubber match eventually. Young Bucks there with Page and Omega to celebrate. Page looks annoyed. Mentions how he’s surprised they won the titles before the Bucks did. Drinks his beer and walks off. We now have but the main event of PAC vs. Jon Moxley up next!
But before then, a few matches announced for next week. Kip Sabian vs. Cody, the Young Bucks vs. The Butcher & The Blade, and Darby Allin & Private Party vs. Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz in a trios match, all taking place next Wednesday! And Chris Jericho is out now to watch this match! Mox of course comes out with his eye covered with a bandage.
Jon Moxley vs. PAC
Chant for Moxley. Crowd with a lewd chant, Mox flips them off for a cheap pop. Interesting. Waistlock, PAC reverses, drop toe hold into a side headlock, PAC escapes. PAC pulls him into a side headlock of his own. Shoved off, shoulder block, PAC with a back elbow to the bad eye! Mox knife edge chops his way out of the corner though. Whip, PAC with a floatover, wants a German but Moxley reverses into a Release German Suplex of his own! Clothesline in the corner, PAC shoves him off, side headlock and punch to the bad eye! Big cheat as the ref has to tend to him!
PAC drives his boot into Moxley’s face. PAC pulls Moxley’s head up, pulls the bandage and we see he still has a patch on, PAC deliberately attacks the eye. Another ocean liner apparently comes up nearby and the crowd chants “Your ship sucks”! PAC with a kneedrop to Mox’s face. Moxley tries to fight his way back up, but PAC dumps him to the floor. Slams Moxley’s face into the apron. Mox throws PAC over the barricade. Chases him through the crowd! They fight up the stairs to the upper deck! Moxley is giving it to PAC, shoves him down the stairs!
Pursues, slowly batters him back towards the ring.
He grabs a cup of beer from a generous fan and smacks it across PAC’s head! Throws him to ringside! Chant of Moxley’s name as he throws him into the ring! PAC rakes the bad eye, Shotgun Dropkick off the top rope – but Moxley just bounces right back up for a big lariat! AEW chant! PAC and Moxley trading forearms. Moxley wins out, hits the ropes, PAC with a spin kick to the gut! Kick evaded, Jon Moxley with an X-Plex for a nearfall! Hooks him for a suplex, PAC escapes, Jawbreaker! Grabs the bandage, nails another aimed at the eye, Jericho calls it an Eyebreaker! Takes him up top! Hooks for a superplex! Moxley fighting back! Flips him to the canvas!
Moxley fixes his bandage, comes off with an elbow drop and PAC with his boot up, right on the elbow that took him out of All Out! PAC trying for the Brutalizer! Moxley escapes but PAC nails him with an enziguri! Kawada Kicks, again focused on the eye! Hits the ropes, Running Dropkick right to the side of the head for a nearfall! PAC goes up top! 450 for some reason, Moxley with the knees up, roll up for a nearfall! Sleeper! PAC with a backwards headbutt to the face, bounces him off the ropes for a German Suplex! He goes up top once more. Black Arrow but Moxley rolls out of the way!
We see some bleeding from within Mox’s bandage… charges, PAC with a thrust kick to the gut. Pump kick knocked away, Moxley with a Double Arm DDT for a nearfall!! Jericho howling at Moxley to stay down! PAC rolls out of the ring to avoid a cover. Moxley pursues. Mox up top! PAC scrambles to his feet, pops to the top rope, big superplex! Into the Brutalizer!! Moxley struggling mightily! Puts the boot on the bottom rope to break the hold! PAC rips off the bandages! Pummels the exposed eye with shots! Argues with the ref… inside cradle takes him off guard for a nearfall! Another Double Arm DDT! Moxley scrambles to his feet and pulls him to his feet! Lifts him for the Paradigm Shift and that is that!
Winner: Jon Moxley
For the first time there, commentary made sure not to call it the Paradigm Shift until he hit the lifting spike variation, I’m glad. I was on that train first!!! Moxley will now face Chris Jericho for the AEW World Championship. On commentary, Jericho strongly implies it’s gonna happen at AEW Revolution!
