AEW Dark continues. We go directly into our third bout of the night with the returning Preston Vance, looking quite confident, making the official pull off his ring jacket before coming down to pose. He will be facing someone that’s absolutely nothing like him in Darby Allin. Thanks to the unique ramp he can’t skateboard out here and looks pretty mad about it. That’s my headcanon anyway.
As he poses on the middle rope, before the bell rings, Vance surprises him by German Suplexing him off the second rope and sending him flying across the ring!
Darby Allin vs. Preston Vance
Biel throw sends him from one corner to the other! Darby rolls to the floor, Vance picks him up, drives him into the barrier and again into the apron, slams his face against that apron. Forearm to the back, Darby still getting his coat off. Vance wants a back suplex, Allin escapes to his feet, evades him on a charge and sends him into the post, slams his right hand into it now. Darby up top, flies at him btu Vance catches him, powers him into a Side Suplex for a nearfall. Allin fights his way up with a slap, but eats a big pump kick right to the face! Vance gets Allin into the corner and gets him with a knife edge chop! Power whip to the opposite corner, Darby with his feet up on the charge.
Wants to whip to the opposite corner but Vance holds on, reverses, wicked forearm to the face! Hits the ropes, another charging forearm! But on the third Darby sends him to the outside, Allin with a gigantic lope suicida sending him right into the barrier! Tosses him into the ring, Springboard Moonsault Press for a nearfall! Demands a punch, ducks it, combination of strikes, roll back, into the Code Red for a nearfall! That one was actually closer to a Destroyer. Ripcord Cutter from Vance, Pop-Up Cutter for a nearfall! Hoists him up, deadlift delayed vertical suplex, but Darby flips to his feet and works over the injured left hand, Over The Shoulder Boulder Holder, Coffin Drop lands flush and that’s that!
Winner: Darby Allin
Well that was way better than it had any right to be. Vance is pretty impressive and Darby gave him a lot, it’s frankly easier for him to look better when he’s got adversity.
