Few have had the impact Ronda Rousey did when she entered the WWE and took the wrestling world by storm. Despite only a year in the business, few have left as big a void as she did when she left. As is the case with every wrestler, fans started to tire of her by the end of her run and let her know it. On a recent Wilde Ride! podcast with Jackass alum Steve-O, she let the “ungrateful fans” have it.
A dynamic individual
Ronda Rousey is one of the most popular women wrestlers in history because she’s bad ass. She may not be the best ever or win every fight, but she can take down almost anyone that crosses her path. She embodies feminine strength and beauty. But she has her faults like anyone else.
She was so accustomed to winning, she was a sore loser. She often came off as a spoiled brat that had everything handed to her, and we’re sure that was never her intention. It’s often the same with other sports stars that often think they’re invincible, and when they lose they look like petulant children.
It is what it is, and this shouldn’t override the great times she’s given us. But then when she was talking about working for roughly 200 days out of the year with the WWE and how the bumps she took further aggravated her broken back, it got around to her choosing her family.
No one can fault her for that, since our families should always be the top of our priority list.
But this is where it gets a little dicey.
The choice
Just like Goldberg looked upset when the fans booed him for beating the Fiend, it appears Rousey doesn’t like or doesn’t understand how wrestling fans lose interest in various wrestlers. She’s so used to being cheered that she was visibly irritated when fans started to turn on her. This doesn’t mean the fans were wrong or right; they’re just being fans and wanted someone new for a while. It happens to many.
This made her decision a choice to be with her family or fans that don’t “appreciate” her.

“What am I doing it for if I’m not being able to spend my time and energy on my family, but instead spending my time and my energy on a bunch of f—ing ungrateful fans that don’t even appreciate me?
“The thing is, I love performing. I love the girls. I love being out there. But, at the end of the day, I was just like, ‘Fuck these fans, dude.’ My family loves me. They appreciate me. I want all of my energy to go into them.”
Well, that thought and her admitting is she does come back to wrestling (not sounding promising) it’ll only be on a strict part time schedule doesn’t look good for her return, but never say never. She did say she’d be open to a ‘Mania appearance or something similar. The question now is, how many fans has she turned off by insulting them?
