Welcome back to The Overtimers coverage of WWE Main Event! It’s been a few weeks, but we’re back in action covering the lowest tiered show in WWE. This proves to be an iconic episode in the making, as we see Billie Kay with Peyton Royce take on the EST of WWE, Bianca Belair. Who would come out on top!

An Iconic Start To This Match

While Royce is the clear breakout star of The Iconics, it’s hard to deny Kay has her place in the ring. She’d go behind Belair early, only for her opponent to turn this around on Kay and slam her into the mat. They’d get back to their feet, and Kay used her height and leverage to drop Belair hard to the mat for a one count.

Belair would go for a backslide, but Kay countered out with some power, before tripping her up. Kay would take some time to taunt, giving Belair a chance to get back to a vertical base. Belair would hit a big hip toss, followed by a shoulder tackle and a mocking of the Iconics taunt.

Royce would get on the apron and distract Belair, prompting Kay to run her opponent down with the Shades Of Kay big boot. This wouldn’t end the match, but it’d put Kay in control of Belair, beating her opponent all around the ring before applying an abdominal stretch. Belair would fight out briefly, before taking a knee to the face, the long legs of Kay proving to be effective.

Bianca Belair Gives Kay The Kiss Of Death

A thumb to the eye would ensure Belair remains on the defensive in this match, applying another abdominal stretch. This time, Belair would successfully fight out, intent on getting this match back in her control. She’d counter anything Kay threw at her, and drop her with a big dropkick, followed by a handspring moonsault for a near fall.

Belair would go to the top rope, and shove Royce off the arpon to prevent her from swatting her down. This gave Kay time to get out of the way of any potential dives, but not out of danger. Belair would daze her with a strike and nail the Kiss Of Death for the win.

This was a solid showing from both women, and shows that Belair is ready to be a top star. Her control segments in this match were fantastic, and something that will make her a women’s champion before long.

Do you think Belair is a future champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
