Back during Stadium Stampede, Matt Hardy proudly stood by Hangman Page and the rest of the Elite to defeat The Inner Circle. Now, Page is out of The Elite, and has fallen on hard times. Hardy has recognized this, and after Page beat Ryan Nemeth last week, Hardy extended an offer of friendship. Tonight, we see where that leads as they face off the AEW Dark favorites, Chaos Project! Chaos Project tried to ruin the birthday of -1 of Dark Order, who Hangman Page is buddies with. Hardy used that to get Page to agree to this match.
Hangman Page & Matt Hardy Wipe The Floor With Chaos Project
Serpentico would start with Hardy, and take a punch early before being driven face first into the corner post. Hardy would apply an arm bar, and tag in Page before hitting a back elbow and letting Page get the running Shooting Star Press. He’d hit some running lariats and a vertical suplex, before Hardy hit the diving elbow butt.
Luther made the blind tag as Hardy hit the Side Effect on Serpentico, and took Hardy down with a lariat. Serpentico tagged in and was thrown at Hardy, before Luther sandwiched Serpentico into Hardy and threw him onto him for the pinfall. Luther tagged back in, hit a scoop slam, and Serpentico dove off the top with a Swanton Bomb, a move Hardy knows well and dodged.
Page tagged in, hit the Fallaway Slam on Serpentico and dove onto Luther, before catching Serpentico with a spinebuster in the ring. Hardy took care of Luther, and Serpentico got dropped for the Buckshot Lariat. Luther pulled Page off the apron, missed a cannonball senton off the apron. Page nailed the Buckshot, Hardy tagged himself in, and stole the pinfall.
