The Young Bucks have held the belts now for over 237 days. They have gone through a lot of heelish changes through their reign. The start of the heel turn and how they got the original match wasn’t the best, but they reign as the champs. But their long reign has to come to an end at some point, but who should be the next AEW tag team champions?
FTR or Proud & Powerful Rematch
At the moment, Young Bucks have gone against nearly every possible next champion, meaning that it’s likely going to be a rematch where they lose. The biggest rematch in the books would be with FTR or Proud & Powerful. Both of these have had great feuds in the past, but they haven’t since they joined their factions.
Looking at both factions, though, it is likely that Proud & Powerful get the chance as they are the faces in the feud. Unless the Young Bucks turn face in the near future. It’s likely that Proud & Powerful will be next in line to be the champions.
New tag-team
It’s also likely that a new top tag team may be made over the next couple of months, or even a tag team from another company may appear in AEW. It could also involve a new AEW wrestler, Andrade teasing something new coming to AEW.
It could be that Andrade will be part of the next tag team champions. There are currently no massive tag teams within the free-agent limbo, but it’s still possible a new tag team may form over the next couple of months.
