On Tuesday, December 7, Amazon boss, Jeff Bezos shocked everyone with his presence at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica. He was there to hand over an award to Actor Dwayne Johnson, The Rock.

Bezos had nice things to say about the “Skyscraper” actor. According to him, “Dwayne’s achievements are legend. His work ethic is unparalleled. He transcends all demographics. He is impossible not to like, and he sure can put down a lot of pancakes. I’ve seen it. but even with all that, the thing that really stands out the most, he’s kind.”

The Businessman continued, “Kindness is a choice, and what I admire most in Dwayne is his choice to show unwavering kindness to everyone around him. Those of us who have been lucky enough to work with Dwayne have seen it over and over.
It extends to family, friends, parents, cast crew and even strangers who approach him on the street. His legacy is one of warmth, passion, respect, humor, commitment, kindness. That’s a track record we should all strive for.”

While this was unusually nice to see, a lot of comments have gone by about Jeff Bezos’ appearance-it’s a wonder what he was doing there, and especially because Amazon chose this same day to be down. A lot of Twitter users aired their various opinions.
“What is happening on the People’s choice awards? Jeff Bezos just gave the Rock an award and its weird.” Another tweet read, “Jeff Bezos at the People’s choice Award meanwhile he needs to be at Amazon helping to get my package delivered tomorrow.” Then another said, speaking of Amazon “Why is Jeff Bezos presenting awards on a live show?!?!? Clearly he is very worried about the outage…”
One of the users said, “I wasn’t able to work today because Amazon’s entire web service system was down the entire day but Jeff Bezos can randomly show up on an awards show. Must be nice to not have to work to earn money.”
