One of the most promising names to be released from WWE was the former RAW Tag Team and NXT Cruiserweight Champion – Buddy Murphy. Often considered one of the best workers in WWE, he’d rarely get to truly flaunt his skills, even when given a big role on a show like Monday Night RAW. This led to him taking the nickname of Best Kept Secret, but the secret is out now – and he might have exposed a secret for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
The Casino Ladder Match Has A Stacked Field – And Buddy Matthews Could Complete The Puzzle
To celebrate the 2nd year anniversary of AEW Dynamite, they have a massive card set. We have new TNT Champion Sammy Guevara defending against Bobby Fish. Hikaru Shida is shooting for her 50th win in AEW against Serena Deeb. Bryan Danielson will team up with Christian Cage & Jurassic Express to face the best of The Elite. However, the Casino Ladder match has everyone’s attention.
It’s clear why – as the winner gets a shot at the AEW World Heavyweight Champion, Kenny Omega. PAC, Andrade El Idolo, Orange Cassidy, Matt Hardy, Jon Moxley & Lance Archer have all been announced for the match – but there is a mystery entrant. While it feels like it could be Lio Rush or a returning Hangman Page, it could just as likely be Buddy Matthews.
The Joker Card Slot Is Used To Bring In Fresh Faces
He’s an elite level talent, well respected across the globe, and has storyline ties to Malakai Black. This meant that when he tweeted out an emoji for a Joker Card, fans paid attention. It would be fitting to have the Best Kept Secret be a secret entrant – and the Joker spot has generally been for debuting talents.
While having Lio Rush reintroduce himself to AEW, or having Hangman Page make his triumphant return to the top of the card to dethrone Omega feel like great storylines? Why break the debut trend. AEW has brought in a lot of new talent lately, and one more won’t break the bank of the Khan family.
Do you think Buddy Matthews could be the Joker entrant on AEW Dynamite? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
