Things haven’t been the same in AEW for the last month. The legendary Jim Ross was not around to lend his voice to AEW Dynamite, as he was off receiving treatment for skin cancer. It was a long road, but after many sessions of radiation treatment for the cancer located around his ankle, Jim Ross shared the best possible news on Twitter.
Jim Ross Is Cancer Free
All throughout his latest battle with cancer, Jim Ross was steadily keeping fans updated on his status. Fans got to see as his ankle healed up through images, and today we finally got the message that was awaited. Jim Ross is cancer free once again, stating so in the following tweet.
“I’m CANCER FREE! We did it! See you tonight on AEW DYNAMITE at 8 ET!”
There was little doubt from fans that Good Ol’JR would pull through, especially given the positive updates, but it’s still nice to get confirmation that he is okay. While he slips up on commentary from time to time, he remains one of – if not the most legendary commentator in professional wrestling today.
Back In Jacksonville For The Final AEW Dynamite Of 2021
Tonight, he will be making his return to the commentary booth. Taz would keep his seat warm, but never brought a cowboy hat to the booth. With AEW being back in Jacksonville for New Years Bash, it just feels right having JR back in with Excalibur & Tony Schiavone.
He’s returning for a big card, with two major six man tag team matches set. Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly & Adam Cole all team up for the first time in AEW to take on Chuck, Trent? Barretta, and Orange Cassidy in a highly anticipated clash. Likewise, Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz takes on 2point0 & Daniel Garcia. Also booked is the semi-finals clash in the TBS Tournament with Thunder Rosa & Jade Cargill, and more will likely come during the show.
