We’re just a few short hours away from the 2022 Royal Rumble, but fans are still trying to figure out who to expect for both matches. There are only a few open slots left in both matches, and everyone knows showing up in the Royal Rumble can change your career. This might be why former WWE star JTG is teasing entry into the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble.
JTG Showing Off The Skyline of St. Louis
Taking to Twitter just a few hours away from the match, JTG would share a picture of the skyline of St. Louis, with the tagline – “Beautiful shot from my room”. The intent was crystal clear for anyone reading it, and has some hope building.
It’s been nearly a decade since JTG was last seen in WWE, with his solo run after the split of popular tag team Cryme Tyme failing to get him much attention. JTG would actually spend a long time doing nothing on his WWE contract, and has written two books about his time in WWE – titled Damn! Why Did I Write This Book? and Damn! Why Did I Write This Book Too? How to Play the Game.
A Tribute To His Fallen Cryme Tyme Partner – Shad Gaspard
While JTG on his own is skilled enough to warrant a second run in WWE, there is another reason for him to enter the match. Back in 2020, his long time tag team partner Shad Gaspard passed away after saving his son from a riptide at a beach. Since then, everyone has been sure to acknowledge both how great of a man Shad was. But also how underrated of a tag team Cryme Tyme was. Despite being a super popular act – they never won tag team gold in WWE.
Simply showing up with their theme song playing, and hitting the G9 alongside someone like Omos would be a great call back to Cryme Tyme – and a worthy use of time in the Royal Rumble match. JTG has been proving himself on the indies and in the NWA since 2020, and a return run in WWE would be appreciated by fans.
