It’s time for the Men’s 2022 Royal Rumble. The story is always the same. Thirty men, one ring, and one ticket to Wrestlemania. This year is as open as ever, with anyone on the roster skilled enough to main event Wrestlemania – but who will be left standing?
AJ Styles would enter in the #1 spot – ready to be the iron-man of this match. He’d even hit the pose of Shawn Michaels – showing he’s ready to go the distance. The #2 spot would be Shinsuke Nakamura, who was cleared to return from a hand injury yesterday. These two met in the Tokyo Dome, and at Wrestlemania – but now they get to start a Royal Rumble match.
AJ Styles & Shinsuke Nakamura Start This Match With Style
Nakamura started off with some kicks to Styles, before taking a Dragon Screw leg whip. The fake out kick would land for Nakamura, who wanted to follow up with a release back suplex over the top rope. Styles would avoid this, and a Boma-Ye attempt, before hitting a rushing forearm. Austin Theory drew the #3 spot, and went right after Nakamura – before Styles & Nakamura looked for a double elimination.
#4 was Robert Roode, who hit some big spinebusters to start his match – and told AJ they’ve waited a long time for a moment like this. AJ got him onto the apron, but wasn’t able to eliminate him on the first attempt – only to get him seconds later. Nakamura would be caught by a spin-out backbreaker from Theory, but wouldn’t get the elimination.
Ridge Holland was #5 – sporting a face protector after Day One. He’d throw Theory around like a sack of potatoes, as Styles eliminated Nakamura. Holland & Theory would brawl it out, and #6 would be Montez Ford. He’d go right after Styles, before instead nailing Theory with a dropkick. Holland nailed a powerslam, and Damien Priest was #7.
Priest would deck Holland with a lariat, before hitting a choke breaker on Theory. Styles would almost make quick work of Priest, but Theory stopped the elimination. #8 would be Sami Zayn, who went into the ring and stayed as far as possible away from everyone. Ford rushed him, and was almost eliminated for it.
Johnny Knoxville of Jackass fame was #9, and Zayn was ready for him but was still taken down with ease. Knoxville pointed at the Wrestlemania sign, before taking a heavy lariat from AJ Styles. Ford hit a frog splash to follow, and Zayn booted him off the apron after Holland placed him there… before Styles sent Zayn out.
How Do You Take Out The Likes Of Omos?
#10 would be Angelo Dawkins, meaning both members of Street Profits were now in this match. They’d almost get Priest out, but for some reason Ridge Holland stopped this. #11 would be Omos, easily the biggest man in this years match – and someone who has issues with AJ Styles. Dawkins was first out by the hand of Omos, with Ford following close behind.
Styles was tossed into the ring post – but went under the bottom rope to the outside. Ricochet was #12, and he’d dive right at Omos before being flapjacked into the air and crushed with a chop. #13 would be Chad Gable of Alpha Academy, another man with zero chance against Omos alone. He’d instead, rally the troops and say that everyone should go after Omos.
Priest started the attack, and was dropped and thrown out. Everyone would then tip Omos as Dominik Mysterio showed up as #14 and helped. AJ Styles rushed in, and Omos was finally out and Gable was elated that his plan worked.
Happy Corbin was in next, taking the #15 spot. He’d go after Austin Theory with a chokeslam, before #16 hit the ring in the form of Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler hit some superkicks, before Mysterio was thrown out by Corbin. Sheamus was #17, and Ridge Holland & Austin Theory were eliminated before he reached the ring. Styles would take a stiff knee strike from Sheamus, before Gable ran into an Irish Curse.
No Kofi Kingston Royal Rumble Save In 2022
#18 was Rik Boogz, who would start off his match by working out using Chad Gable. He’d proceed to press slam Gable out of the ring with ease. #19 would see Madcap Moss hit the ring to the glee of Corbin. They’d beat up Sheamus in the corner, before Boogz would fail to press slam Ziggler out of the match.
Styles would be double teamed by Moss & Corbin, before Moss would take Styles out of the ring – ending his match. #20 would be Riddle, who was mauled by Moss & Corbin upon hitting the ring. Moss & Corbin would take Boogz would of the match, before Riddle dove into them with a forearm smash. #21 would be Drew McIntyre, who Moss & Corbin thought they ended at Day One. He’d quickly send both men out of the match, and was an easy favourite at this point.
However, McIntyre kept the fight coming to Corbin & Moss on the floor, using the steel steps for some extra revenge. #22 was Kevin Owens, who met McIntyre down the ramp and got thrown into the ring. Owens hit the pop up powerbomb on McIntyre, before a cannonball senton on Ziggler. #23 was Rey Mysterio – the winner of the 2006 Rumble. He’d hit the ring and send KO flying with a headscissor, before hitting a wild hurricanrana on riddle to almost take him out of the match.
KO hit Rey with a stunner, but was caught between Sheamus & McIntyre – who took turns punching him. #24 was Kofi Kingston – who hopes his rumble trick this year is winning. KO sent him to the apron, and launched him to the barricade, and both feet hit the floor – ending his match in record time.
Brock Lesnar Is Here After Being Screwed Earlier In The Night
Riddle would try to take Sheamus out, as #25 was Otis – the second half of the RAW Tag Team Champions. He’d go right after anyone in a corner, rushing in with back elbows before slamming down McIntyre. #26 would be Big E, who will hopefully last longer than Kofi Kingston did. Big E would hit suplexes on KO & Riddle before a big running splash. Sheamus would however nail a Brogue Kick, before throwing Mysterio out of the match. #27 was Bad Bunny, who few expected to show up at back to back Royal Rumbles.
He’d dive right onto Sheamus, and blocked a stunner from KO before hitting a headscissor takedown. Riddle took the Bunny Destroyer, before Sheamus would be taken out of the match by him after a missed kick. Rey Mysterio & Bad Bunny worked together to take Ziggler out of the match – before KO in the Stunner. Otis took out Rey,. as Shane McMahon entered at #28.
Shane went after KO with his ‘expert’ strikes, before taking a set of superkicks and throwing KO out of the match. #29 would be Randy Orton, who was in no hurry to save Riddle from being sent out. He’d hit an RKO before throwing Big E out. Riddle would hit an RKO on McIntyre, they’d dump Otis out. #30 would be now former WWE Champion, Brock Lesnar.
Orton would be the first suplexed by Lesnar, with Shane & Riddle following. Lesnar drove Orton out of the ring, and Bad Bunny was terrified as he took an F5 and was chucked out of the ring. Riddle was next, and Shane followed. All that was left was McIntyre & Lesnar, meeting for the first time since the empty arena Wrestlemania. Claymore was dodged, and McIntyre was thrown out of the ring with ease.
