In the early hours of Sunday morning, January 30, the body of a lady was found in the street below Orion building after falling from a high-rise apartment building in New York City. The dead woman was then identified to be Cheslie Kryst, Miss USA from the 2019 pageant.
The 30-year-old beauty queen turned lawyer was pronounced dead at the scene by the NYPD. A spokesperson from the Police department let us know that the death of the beauty Queen who lived on the 9th floor of the 50-storey building is contemplated to be suicide, although medical examiners have not determined the cause of death officially, Cheslie Kryst was last seen on a terrace on the 29th floor shortly after 7am.

In a statement released by her family, Kryst is described as one whose “great light inspired others around her.” “Cheslie embodied love and served others, whether through work as an attorney fighting social justice, as Miss USA and as a host on Extra. But most importantly, as a daughter, sister, friend, mentors and colleague-we know her impact will live on.”
The Company which the beauty Queen worked for as a reporter-Extra TV Show also released a statement where they said, “Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show. She was a beloved part of our Extra family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.” Earlier on Sunday, just a few hours before she passed. Kryst posted a photo of herself, which she captioned, “May this day bring you rest and peace.”
In 2019, Kryst had spoken out on Facebook during World Mental Health Day; she described her stress relief process. “I do a lot to make sure that I maintain my mental health. And the most important thing that I did is talk to a counselor. She’s really easy to talk to and she gives me great strategies especially if I’m sad or happy or have a busy month ahead of me.”
Cheslie Krsyt was born in Jackson Michigan in 1991 but grew up in California She won the Title of Miss North California USA in 2019.
