This has been a very interesting year in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Many of their year one deals have been coming to an end, with the likes of Cody Rhodes, Joey Janela, Marko Stunt and Jack Evans all finishing up with the company. We can now add Stu Grayson to that list – as AEW has not renewed the Dark Order’s members contract.
Stu Grayson Is Done With AEW
Fans had originally figured this was the case, as the profile of Grayson was removed from AEW’s website alongside other recent talents who left the company. Both Fightful Select & Wrestling Observer would confirm that Grayson has finished up with the company, with his contract ending – and an extension being offered but not accepted.
Grayson & AEW could not come to an agreement on a contract, but the door remains open for future negotiations. This separates him from Dark Order, and his long term tag team partner Evil Uno. They joined AEW together, and have been a tag team since 2006. It’s unclear what will come next for Grayson.
One Of The Best Kept Secrets In Professional Wrestling
He’s been widely considered one of the best kept secrets on the AEW roster, but as the roster grows – it’s been harder and harder for him to make it to TV. It wouldn’t be shocking to see him join the roster of WWE or Impact Wrestling and thriving there away from Evil Uno. Grayson is 33 years old, and still has a lot left in the tank.
WWE has moved away from signing previously experienced wrestlers for their NXT brand however, meaning Impact Wrestling could be a more likely location for Grayson if he signs to another major company. All other Dark Order members are seemingly still on the AEW roster, including Alan Angels, Alex Reynolds, Colt Cabana, John Silver, Pres10 Vance, and Anna Jay.
