Approximately 12,100 – 12,200 fans are expected at the Osaka Jo Hall on Sunday, with the main attractions being IWGP Heavyweight and Intercontinental ‘Double Champion’ Tetsuya Naito defending both titles against KENTA in a highly anticipated marquee main event. The highest billed headline match sees IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion Jon Moxley making his V2 defense against Minoru Suzuki — in a match with a high degree of international buzz.

The remaining headlines feature a special singles match between Sanada/Jay White and Hiromu Takahashi making the V1 defense of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against long-term rival Ryu Lee. Showing the depth of drawing power within the NJPW roster, neither 5x former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada or former 8x IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi are featured in headling matches.

Despite fans in the English speaking community critiquing Gedo and Jado for their creative decisions surrounding KENTA attacking Naito after the marquee match on night-two of Wrestle Kingdom 14, the financial success of The New Beginning in Osaka proves the decision is barring fruit.

The event could also hold several surprises, along with bringing a night of critically acclaimed in-ring action.
