WWE WrestleMania 36 is going down tonight! You can see the results of the show and links to recaps below.
Kickoff Show: Drew Gulak took on Cesaro in the first match of the weekend. It was quick but a technically sound match where Gulak attacked the arm of Cesaro to take away the Neutralizer, forcing him to find a way to win without it. Cesaro got the victory with a no hands Airplane Spin.
Segment 1: In the opening match of the night, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross took on the Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. After a hard fought bout, Bliss-Cross got the victory, the first title change of the weekend, making them two-time tag champs.
Segment 2: Elias took on King Corbin in the next match. Before the match, King Corbin demanded a victory by forfeit as he assumed Elias would not be showing up tonight after being tossed from the balcony. But Elias did indeed appear and broke a guitar over Corbin’s back before the bell rang to ensure they were both banged up coming in. After a physical fight, Elias got the victory with a roll-up with a handful of tights.
Segment 3: Becky Lynch then defended the WWE Raw Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler. They spent the whole match trading Kirifuda Clutch and Dis-Arm-Her attempts, in the end Becky reversed the clutch into a bridge to surprise her with the victory!
Segment 4: Sami Zayn successfully defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship over Daniel Bryan, nailing him with a Helluva Kick out of the air.
Segment 5: In a triple threat ladder match for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team titles between John Morrison, Kofi Kingston and Jimmy Uso, Morrison got the flukey victory. All three men grabbed the the titles and were playing tug of war with them. A headbutt sent him flying from the ladder right onto another one but he held onto the titles on the way down and thus was ruled the winner.
Segment 6: Kevin Owens faced off with Seth Rollins. They put on a classic battle until Seth got himself disqualified with a surprise shot of the ring bell. However Owens demanded the match be restarted with a No DQ stip and Seth agreed. They proceeded to beat the crap out of each other, Owens climbed up the WrestleMania sign for a ridiculous half senton dive that put Rollins through the announce table! Shortly thereafter, Owens got the win with a Stunner.
Segment 7: In the usual quick finisher spamming match, Braun Strowman defeated Bill Goldberg to win the WWE Universal Championship in a major upset.
Segment 8: Then came the Boneyard Match. It was a Final Deletion style fight in a graveyard and also a Buried Alive Match. There’s no apt description aside from going blow for blow, but in the end the Undertaker got the victory.
