In WWE, there was once a faction who was less than mighty, but have now had two WWE Champions from the ranks of Three Man Band. These are Jinder Mahal who was champion back in 2017 when he beat Randy Orton, and our current WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. They seem to be on a collison course since Jinder Mahal returned to Monday Night RAW, but McIntyre is ready for this challenge. While speaking on SiriusXM show Busted Open, he addressed this potential matchup.
Drew McIntyre & Jinder Mahal Could Create Some Magic
“I love that idea and I know a lot of people out there? When they hear that initially they’re gonna think ‘no! that’s not what we want right now!’ The bigger picture? There is a real story there, not just the story that is on television or even in 3MB. We both got fired, we came back, we won World titles. There’s so much more behind the scenes that happens, so much more that happened in our personal lives that we’d be comfortable putting on television for a World Title feud. We would put it all out there.”
Their histories are near identical, with the only difference being that people actualy have respect for McIntyre as champion. It has been well proven that good friends make the best rivals, as we would see two people comfortable with each other in the ring. We have seen this with duos like Triple H & Shawn Michaels, Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens, and Johnny Gargano & Tomassao Ciampa. We could see Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre added to this list, despite Mahal not having the best track record for in ring performances.
Will Heath Slater Follow A Similar Path?
While Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre were members of Three Man Band, Heath Slater started the group. He was recently let go from WWE, and is still in his 90 day non-compete period. With him being a company man, his release was shocking, and means he will likely get a chance to rejoin WWE at some point. Jinder Mahal was released, came back and became WWE Champion. Drew McIntyre did the same thing. Heath Slater could very well complete the hat trick when he comes back. Could you see this happening, or is Slater as WWE Champion just too hard to visualize?
