AEW Dynamite begins! All Elite Wrestling on TNT! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the recap of the show, segment by segment, as it’s happening! And Jon Moxley is opening the show, coming out from the crowd for his match with Ortiz! He’s got a bigger eyepatch this time in the hopes that it won’t be coming off I think. And it makes him look more like a pirate than ever! Ortiz comes out with Santana backing him up… and Chris Jericho comes out as well, just to let the crowd sing his theme!
Jon Moxley vs. Ortiz
Ortiz charges, Mox takes control of him with chops and forearms as the crowd finishes Judas and transitions to chanting Moxley! Clothesline, Ortiz bails, Mox pursues and grabs a chair to scare him into the ring! Drops it as he follows him in, Ortiz with a kick but Jon Moxley blocks it and trips him to the mat. Elbow, knees to the gut. Hits the ropes, Ortiz grabs the ref, Santana grabs Mox’s ankle, Ortiz with an enziguri, DDT, planking splash! Throws Moxley to the outside, tosses him into the barricade. Bites his forehead, throws him right into the ring steps! Ortiz with the tiger pose on the steps! Back into the ring to try and get the countout as Santana harasses the fallen Moxley, chant of “Ortiz Sucks”.
Moxley rolls into the ring, Ortiz facewashes him against the bottom buckle. Back rake, and there’s the claws again. Camel Clutch locked in, and Ortiz grinding the forearm against that bad eye. Moxley makes it to his feet, slams Ortiz backfirst into the corner! Forearm shots, Let’s Go Moxley chant, Ortiz blocks a shot into a Sit-Out Powerbomb for a nearfall! Chokes Mox into the middle rope. Chant for Moxley just intensifies. Ortiz hits the ropes, Moxley trips him up to counter into the Figure Four! Almost gets the shoulders down, but Ortiz with a thumb to the eye to stop it!
Ortiz charges but Moxley deposits him! Hits the ropes for the suicide dive, gets Santana! Ortiz tries to take advantage but Mox reverses and throws him into the crowd! Loud chant of AEW! Moxley takes him into the ring, Black Hole Slam for a nearfall! Exchange of forearms and chest claws from Ortiz, Mox gets sent outside, Ortiz with a Tope Suicida Con Hilo, that was risky as hell but nailed him! Throws him into the ring! Ortiz goes up top, Frog Splash for a nearfall! Fisherman’s Suplex, bridge for a nearfall! Up top again, Mox with a kick to the gut as he comes off, a few reversals brings us to a Paradigm Shift and that’s that!

Santana into the ring for an attack! Mox fights out though, and drops him with a Double Arm DDT! Loud chant of Moxley as he takes up the car keys to the Ford GT, shows them to Jericho! He’s threatening to stab them into the eye of Santana! Jericho’s howling for Hager to get him! But before the backup makes it, Moxley jabs the key right into Santana’s eye and makes his escape through the crowd!
