Ladies and gentlemen, we are set for a very, very unique edition of AEW Dynamite! Le Champion Chris Jericho leads the Inner Circle against the Jurassic Express! And it’s safe to say the heel team has the homefield advantage here! After all, we’re on Chris Jericho’s Rock ‘N Wrestling Rager At Sea Part Deux: Second Wave! Translation: this show is taking place on a damn cruise liner! And since third one was announced for next year, lining up with Wednesday yet again, it seems like we’re witnessing the start of an All Elite Wrestling tradition! I could not be more for this! This will be wild folks, so let’s look into the previews!
(Note: This show was taped yesterday, as doing this live was utterly impossible. Spoilers are out there by this point, on our own dear site included. I’ve tried my best to avoid them however.)
The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Santana & Ortiz) vs. Jurassic Express
Luchasaurus, Marko Stunt and Jungleboy take on Le Champion and Proud-N-Powerful in this very colorful six-man tag team match! This of course stems from Jericho’s mini-feud with Jungleboy at the end of last year. He harassed the then-winless wonder, and arrogantly claimed over and over that he couldn’t possibly last ten minutes with the youngest AEW World Champion in history. But when the time came for the match, Jungleboy ended up going the distance, lasting the whole ten minutes and then some in what ended up being a time limit draw!
Since then, Jericho tried to change his story, acting like he instead claimed that Jungleboy couldn’t beat him. But of course we all know that isn’t true. The scenario worked out as quite the moral victory for Jungleboy and a good omen for the youngster’s future. Now, he’s sharing a ring with Jericho yet again. But this time he’s backed up by his friends in the Jurassic Express! Jericho for his part has Santana & Ortiz on his side, the same combination that headlined the first episode of AEW Dynamite back in October.
The eclectic trio that is the Jurassic Express are always popular, but don’t tend to win all the time. As much as it’s totally in character for Chris Jericho to take a big loss right here on his own damn boat, I’m not sure if I see it happening right at this minute. I don’t think this feud will be revisited again within the next couple of months, perhaps after Jericho’s title reign is over. For now I’m gonna say the Inner Circle goes over.
