Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, the WWE Royal Rumble is going down here tonight! We’ve got the big-time traditional Men’s Royal Rumble match to get into tonight, and below you can see my deep dives into each one of the favorites to win!
Braun Strowman – The Monster Among Men is, in case you didn’t know, exceptionally large. Sure, he’s been treated as more an attraction than a top guy. And yeah, he’s going after the IC title right now which is sorta awkward considering this. But hear me out… who’s gonna throw Braun Strowman over the top rope?!
Brock Lesnar – He’s coming in #1. Might we see an ironman, hour-long performance from Brock Lesnar?!?! Nnnno, almost definitely not. But that isn’t to say he can’t find a way to win anyway. Title-for-title bout with the Fiend on the horizon?
Drew McIntyre – McIntyre really came out of nowhere to become a much talked about favorite to win for many. It speaks to his star potential how easy it was to do this, considering how lame his 2019 actually was. Drew could really challenge anybody as he doesn’t have a pre-built story.
Keith Lee – Speaking of star potential, Keith Lee has a truly boundless, one might say limitless potential himself! I honestly don’t have any reason to be as sure of his entry in this match as I am, aside from it simply being such an obviously good idea! I want that Keith Lee/Lesnar match real bad, y’all.
Kevin Owens – Owens’ road to Mania might end being a circuitous one. His nemesis Seth Rollins will probably take the WWE title shortly after this show if Kevin actually wins this one. Can’t discount it though.
King Corbin – Name one person who would be upset if King Corbin won this match! Yeah, I know… but it can happen. Almost certainly it’d mean Corbin and Roman at Mania for the title, somehow.
Kofi Kingston – AVENGE THE SEVEN SECONDS! REMATCH WITH THE BEAST!
Roman Reigns – The favorite to win this year. Also the early favorite to win the 2021, 2022 and 2024 Men’s Royal Rumble matches. (He’ll be world champ going into 2023.)
Samoa Joe – Can pretty much copy and paste from Owens’ journey, except that Mania title match will probably include a couple more people if we’re going that route.
Seth Rollins – The Monday Night Messiah has a real chance at making it two-in-a-row, joining that rarefied air. Don’t be shocked.
Predicted Winner: Roman Reigns
