ollowing is a report on Pro Wrestling Noah’s opening match of their first event on DDT Universe on January 30, 2020, following their acquisition by CyberAgent.
CyberAgent and Pro Wrestling Noah (NOAH) had an emergency press conference on January 29th, where they announced NOAH would have their first live stream on DDT Universe the following night. CyberAgent is also the parent company of Dramatic Dream Team (DDT), which airs events and matches from several DDT subsidiaries — will also live stream NOAH events once or twice a month according to reports. The move could go a long way in helping NOAH reach financial stability, which the promotion hasn’t had for several years.
The first match of the Global Junior League final saw El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr, (The Son Of Dr. Wanger Jr.) defeat Kinya Okada in six minutes. While the match didn’t receive a lot of time, both were able to show potential in what was a good opening contest.
The 988 crowd members in attendance got into the contest during its later stages creating a good environment for the remainder of the night. El Hijo de Wagner Jr. showed an aggressive streak during the match as he bullied Okada, who has far more experience than the NOAH Dojo graduate.
El Hijo de Wanger Jr. aligns with the Sugiura-gun unit, and shows an aggressiveness which could lead to him moving up the card in the near future. Kinya Okada will have multiple opportunities in the upcoming years to progress through the ranks as NOAH looks for new draws as they attempt to regain financial stability in Japan.
