WWE Friday Night SmackDown kicking off here! Roman Reigns comes out to open the show, we’ve got our six-man tag team match on tonight. And wow does Roman’s entrance always take up four minutes? They have microphones as well, ready to put down King Corbin and company. Roman says the good news is, he whooped Corbin’s ass all over that baseball stadium. But the bad news is, he lost. I was very confused for a second there but he’s talking about being eliminated from the Rumble.
Now, out comes King Corbin, with his boys backing him up. Corbin says without the help of his cousins, he would never have beaten him this Sunday. Says if the three of them hadn’t attacked him like the savages they are, he would’ve been in better shape to win the Royal Rumble match later in the night and he’d be the one main eventing WrestleMania. Tonight he demanded a six man tag match to make them pay for what they did. Usos interrupt to talk about how much they beat their asses. Tell him he’s a king in the wrong game, playing checkers whilst they play chess. Checkmate.
Corbin responds by cuing up yet another replay of Roman getting showered in dogfood. I wonder how many times that’s been replayed. Roman calls out how Corbin seems to have a fetish for dogfood. Says he’ll have something that really turns him on, a stipulation for tonight!
Now, the loser of the six-man tag team match here tonight will eat dog food!
King Corbin accepts! My God. It’s Super SmackDown here tonight, folks! Somehow, that part totally whizzed by me during previews, I guess that’s why four matches were announced in advance this time around. Well, this one’s certainly been a long time coming, isn’t it? Roman Reigns and King Corbin have faced off in numerous Loser Eats Dogfood matches in the past, but none on television. This led to speculation that eventually we would see this, with many figuring it for pay-per-view. There was even some thought that it might well take place at the Royal Rumble event. But we ended up getting that Falls Count Anywhere match instead…
This, if nothing else, seems to signal that tonight really is the end of this angle. Atleast, to me. After you’ve gone Loser Eats Dogfood, where do you go from there, really?
