With Tuesday night comes another episode of AEW Dark. And since it’s usual partner NWA Powerrr is not taking place this week, I’ve opted to go ahead and let Dark have all the focus with a full-scale preview! So let’s go ahead and get into what we have for tonight. As usual there’s some unique stuff going down on AEW Dark!
We begin with a triple threat match between three men who are all on very different spots on the totem pole…
Scorpio Sky vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Peter Avalon
So these guys seemingly have zero in common! That’s both stylistically and personality-wise, really. And that’s always neat. It’s a little hard to know what to expect when you have a situation like this. Really, only one thing is for sure… The Librarian does not win. Maybe he will someday but this sure doesn’t seem like the one. Forever shushed…
Jimmy Havoc is basically right in the middle of the pack, but is being pushed as a violent and controversial sort. He’s been told that he’ll be fined $10,000 every time he uses his staple gun and has responded by just continuing to go ahead and use it anyway. It should be noted that in a three-way, there are no disqualifications, so that actually does play into Havoc’s hands pretty well. In theory the staple gun shouldn’t even be an issue this time.
But Scorpio definitely has to be the obvious favorite going in. They said that tag team wrestling could main event, and thereby that tag champions would be considered world champions in their own right. In the past month, they’ve done well to try and reinforce this by having Scorpio pin AEW World Champion Chris Jericho in a tag title match, then narrowly lose to him in a title match. Essentially, Scorpio is already established among the upper echelon of All Elite Wrestling. That being the case, it’d be a little curious to have him in this match at all if he’s going to lose.
And I figure they wouldn’t. Scorpio Sky over. The last time Peter Avalon was in a random three-way, one of the opponents (Shawn Spears) got chased away and he ended up being squashed by the other. (Darby Allin) It’d be funny if the same happened here. Havoc has plenty of enemies who might go after him.
