Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, continuing the preview for tonight’s battle in the Wednesday Night Wars! We’ve got a fair bit to talk about concerning AEW Dynamite tonight, so let’s not waste any time!
MJF shall be responding to Cody Rhodes’ offer from last week.
For those who missed it, seven days ago Cody Rhodes stood in the middle of the ring practically begging for a match with one Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Desperate for revenge after he turned on him at Full Gear, Cody wants nothing more than a shot at him. But MJF had told him he would absolutely never take a match with Cody Rhodes. This is something Cody called a hell of an absolute, and he vowed that he’d find a way to convince him. He told MJF to name his price, and made it clear he was willing to offer pretty much anything to get a shot at him.
He threw out his keys to a Ford Black Ops, an SUV that MJF had been eying for some time apparently… as well as his red bottom shoes, a gifted watch from Tony Khan himself and of course just straight up offered him $50,000 in cash.
Judging by MJF’s response on social media – in which he took credit for hiring the Butcher and the Blade and noted that he would be naming Cody’s partner, who turned out to be QT Marshall – none of that was enough to tempt him. However, Cody DID tell him to name his price… one would think that there’s something in MJF’s devious mind he could come up with, something else that he has yet to take from Cody Rhodes.
Tonight, MJF will officially address the situation. Which means we may just find out what that price ends up being. Question is, will it be too steep, even for Cody?
