One of the more interesting prospects in the womens division of WWE is the Ruby Riot. Her punk rock aesthetic and high impact style makes her easily stand out amongst the pack. She suffered some injuries earlier this year, but things are looking up for a return in early 2020. After undergoing surgeries on both of her shoulders in May and August of this year, it’s been a long road to recovery.
Ruby Riot Getting Prepared For A Return
Ruby appeared on Vickie Guerreros podcast “Excuse Me” where she spoke on her health and when to expect her back. “They [doctors] said I’m on a good track for recovery. Some time, hopefully early in 2020, but they haven’t given me an exact return date. I’m just hoping the sooner, the better, honestly. It’s been such a hard road. Physically, obviously, I lost a lot of muscle in my shoulders and in my arms and everything. I guess I never realized how much I used my arms until I was without one and then both of them!”
The Royal Rumble has historically been a fantastic way to return from injury, so with that early 2020 return date as an option, there will be a push for her to be able to return on that huge stage. She wasn’t booked highly in WWE before her leaving, but her unique style has ensured she gained a rather large fanbase who should be happy to see her back.
Could We See Her Be A Star In 2020?
WWE have been making their womens division more and more important with each passing year. Someone like Ruby Riot would be ideal to try and make into a star, with potential to be akin to a female Jeff Hardy in terms of her appeal to the people who stand out in society. She marches to the beat of her own drum, and that is something that connects with people. With her former Riot Squad mates Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan having their own singles runs, we can expect Ruby Riot to do the same. Maybe we could see her claim a Money in the Bank victory, and see WWE test her as a potential top star for the womens division. More variety is never a bad thing in any division.
