Ladies and gentlemen, it is Wednesday night, always the best night of the week if you ask me, purely because it means another edition of the modern day wrestling wars! AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT are once again set to grace us with their presence, and I could not be more excited! After all, tonight… I’m going to be there at AEW Dynamite live! Yes, they’ll be emanating from Southaven, Mississippi, which is like a half hour drive from my house, I would’ve been crazy to pass that up! It’s a special show too, billed as the AEW Anniversary, as it’s a year out from the inaugural Double Or Nothing rally, which was technically the first AEW-sponsored event of any kind!
My watching from the stands means that I’m unable to do the usual recap but I’ll still be giving you the previews as usual, and the results later tonight!
Tonight, Jon Moxley will officially respond to Chris Jericho’s offer to join the Inner Circle.
So an ongoing issue has been that Jon Moxley has been pursuing the AEW World title, only for Le Champion to try and sidestep this by offering Mox a spot in the Inner Circle instead. Last week, Jericho sweetened the deal by outright offering him a spot as co-leader, with 49% of the Inner Circle LLC and a Ford GT with Mox’s name on it. (Fun fact: that car belongs to Shad Khan, father of AEW’s owner Tony Khan. They planned to use a Lamborghini but he offered his own personal car instead.)
I believe Mox was actually meant to answer Chris last week, but he noted that it was important Jericho be there in person when he did it. Jericho was actually in Tokyo already for his WK bout with Tanahashi on January 1st. Either way, this week Jon Moxley and Chris Jericho are both set to be in the building and we’ll see this phase of the storyline reach it’s conclusion.
One can only imagine that Mox needs Jericho there because his answer will come in the form of a Paradigm Shift, but hey, that’s just a guess!
