It’s Wednesday night, and that means another episode of AEW Dynamite! My name is Jordan Huie, and we’re breaking into 2020 with a very special and very loaded show! It’s AEW Homecoming, the return to Jacksonville! This was the site of the inaugural Double or Nothing Rally as well as the venue for Fight For The Fallen last year. The show is ongoing as I type this, so let’s go into the results!
We have just now witnessed the match between Trent and Jon Moxley. Going into this match, Mox had a lot on his mind. He was already in the midst of going after the AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, who in turn offered him a spot in the Inner Circle. Already on a big winning streak, it was pretty key that he continue this, lest his title campaign be cut short. Conversely, Trent was looking for the most major victory of his career, certainly as a singles competitor.
You can see an excerpt of my recap of this match below:
Mox wants a powerbomb, Trent reverses with a jackknife, series of kickouts, crowd applauds but Mox with a big lariat! Nearfall, Trent responds with one of his own for another! Orange Cassidy gets onto the apron! Big pop! Slowly enters the ring… puts the hands in his pockets! Chant of “Freshly Squeezed”! Moxley shrugs and responds in kind for a big ovation! Turns around into the Buisaku Knee!! Trent with a Stump Piledriver for a nearfall, goodness! Mox rolls outside to the elevated ramp, Trent up top, flies but Mox with a kick to the gut out of the air, Double Arm DDT onto the ramp! Rolls Trent into the ring, picks him up, full-on Paradigm Shift for the victory!
Winner: Jon Moxley
As expected, it was quite the brutal fight. But ultimately, Jon Moxley got the victory.
