Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jordan Huie, we are here at the Overtimer where I will be giving you the live recap and results from tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown! Fox’s video feed has given me grief for a lot of the night but things seem to be cleared up now, here’s hoping it holds up! Either way, I’ve got a job to do and I intend to see it through! That said, the show is about halfway over now and we just saw another singles match, as well as what appears to be another turn.
Earlier in the night, Kofi Kingston and Big E attempted to cheer up the Miz, still in a bad mood after his dealings with Bray Wyatt. He wasn’t having any of it and in his frustration he ended up smacking their pancakes to the floor. This led to a match being made between the Miz and Kofi Kingston for later in the night and that match just concluded as I type this.
You can see my recap of this match below:
The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston
Miz shoots Kofi off the ropes, Kofi with a shoulder block, leap frog, monkey flip. Kofi with a roll-up, Miz reverses for a nearfall. Kofi leap frogs, flying back elbow. Miz charges, Kofi evades, Miz ends up falling to the floor. Kofi wants a tope, Miz evades so Kofi does his little headbounce to stay in the ring. Miz slowly re-enters. Gets him down for a Figure Four, Kofi kicks him away, Miz gets him in the corner though, It Kicks! Charging knees. Kofi with the Shuriken! Kofi slips into the ring, Boom Drop! Starts a-clapping. Trouble In Paradise ducked, Miz wants his neckbreaker into the backbreaker but Kofi escapes, tries for the SOS, Miz turns it into a Skull Crushing Finale attempt but Kofi counters with a victory roll, gets the pin!
Winner: Kofi Kingston
Miz looks stunned… jumps Kofi from behind! E rushes into the ring and Miz bails, leaves in a huff as the crowd chants “You Suck”! Miz is indignant at the crowd for this. Says he gave them everything.
As you can see at the end there, while Kofi won the match, Miz jumped him afterwards, before quickly being run out of the ring by Big E. This would appear to be the start of a heel turn, going with the theme that everyone who goes after the Fiend comes out of it a worse person for it.
