Just when we think there’s nothing Chris Jericho can do to surprise us, he ends up being an Indie darling. For the last few months at least, he’s shared fans creating gifs or memes with him and Flair, or him and Sammy Guevara. He’s shown not problem with laughing at himself while encouraging his fans’ creative streaks. Lately, he’s put the call out for fans to share their covers of his AEW entrance song, Judas, with him so he can share them. By giving so many the chance to share the spotlight, he’s not only giving them exposure, but Chris Jericho is an Indie darling.
This is one of the first I’ve seen, and this young lady did an awesome job.

Giving fans the spotlight
One of the hardest things stars in any entertainment genre can do is give others the spotlight, especially fans. Many either love the attention for themselves or have security issues that allowing others to share their moment can be threatening. There are plenty of other reasons, but those are the first ones to come to mind.
And to be fair, it’s understandable for them to be protective of their space after having to work so hard to get there. In many ways, it’s also a pride thing as such things are viewed as taking a shortcut by using another’s platform to enhance themselves when they hadn’t.
For all of those that are protective of their time, there are others that give without a second thought. They are the ones that are generally fans themselves and understand what it’s like to have someone they love watching or listening perform to include them in some way.
Thus, we have those that give and share without a second thought.
It all started with a cruise

Chris Jericho is the heel of AEW. Every week, he’s pushed himself more and more toward the dark side to put others over, but something’s changed. AEW fans are showing their support for him in a different way than usual — by singing his entrance song.
This has been going on for months, but we haven’t really heard it on TV until recently. The first time we really saw this was on the Rock ‘N’ Rager cruise when he came out for his match on Dynamite. It happened again last week, and he even took to the mic to tell fans to “shut up!”
It’s an enigma of various sorts since he’s supposed to be the bad guy. We’re supposed to hate what his character does, not support him by singing his entrance song.
But that’s the really cool thing. Often, someone or something’s popularity takes on a life of its own and everyone’s just trying to hold on and figure it out.
While this is something we don’t expect, we as fans embrace it as well, and we love to see what comes out of it.
There’s no denying Jericho has done everything he can to this point to help AEW to get over, and connecting with fans like this is genius. It allows up to see another side of him and gain a deeper appreciation for his talent, drive, and heart.
Moments like these are more than classic, they’re awesome.
