All Elite Wrestling provided us with another episode of AEW Dark this week and it got the full coverage this time around! Below you can see the results from the show, with full recaps of every match!

Segment 1: In the opening contest, Kris Statlander took on Diamante. It was a one-sided affair designed to get Statlander over, both as a unique character and as a total powerhouse and athletic marvel. She’s already both of those things so it wasn’t too difficult. As one would expect, Statlander got the victory without too much trouble, nailing the Big Bang Theory. She really does seem destined to be a big name in this division going forward.

Segment 2: In tag team competition, the Best Friends (Trent & Chuck Taylor w/ Orange Cassidy) faced off against the Hybrid-2 (Jack Evans & Angelico) and as expected, it was a goodun. Hybrid-2 found themselves attacking Orange Cassidy for cheap heat. This would later backfire on them when he would play a key part in distracting them and costing them the match. The Best Friends got the win, and some key momentum heading into the tag team battle royal tomorrow night on Dynamite in the Georgia Dome.

Segment 3: AEW Dark rolled on with another women’s match which saw Big Swole Ariel Monroe take on Christi Jaynes. Jaynes is a newcomer from Brazil making her AEW debut. Similar to the Statlander/Diamante match in that Swole took the vast majority of the match, but Jaynes did get a bit more control than Diamante and showed off her cocky attitude quite a bit as well, a good display of arrogance. But of course this led to the powerful Swole getting the victory with her trademark Dirty Dancing.

Segment 4: This left the Young Bucks vs. QT Marshall & Peter Avalon bout as the main event for the evening. It is hard for any match on Dark to go on after Matt & Nick Jackson I suppose, and it does make it more convenient for them to do their usual post-show funtime with the crowd so it makes sense, even if it’s such a hilarious mismatch on paper. And to the shock of no one, the Young Bucks got the win in a match where QT and Avalon could not get on the same page. Avalon and his manager Leva Bates really wanted to cheat to win, QT was not having it, eventually Avalon just socked him, leaving himself wide open to be finished off.

A pretty fun night! Something I’ve noticed, and in a way expected; the production on Dark is much better than it used to be. The audio was once really bad and it gave the impression that the crowd was much more muted than they actually were. This was because TNT was handling production for Dynamite but not for Dark, and it made sense to use a lower quality production for this. But with their new deal, AEW is able to finance the entire production and this has spread to a budget increase for Dark. So it comes off much better now.

I’m a hardcore wrestling fan, by which I mean I’m a hardcore fan of wrestling... but I also have nothing against hardcore wrestling! I’ve been watching since 2006, back when I was 12 years old. In that time I’ve fervently followed WWE, TNA, ROH, Lucha Underground and others. Today I’m most passionate about NXT, New Japan and especially AEW! You could call me a modern wrestling savant but I know my old school stuff as well... I’ll be your huckleberry all night long.
