WWE Friday Night SmackDown is almost over now. All we have left to do is see Bill Goldberg, actually making a live appearance this time around! Crowd chants his name as he makes his way through the backstage and the poor old dude has to once again stand in those sparks. He’s in the ring and the chant of his name is deafening. Says “Damn it’s good to be back!” to a huge pop. Says it’s been a long time since he’s said this and been in the ring in SmackDown so he’s gonna take his sweet time and enjoy it. Mentions the Fiend, says whoever and whatever you are, know this: he’s ready!
Firefly Funhouse theme interrupts him. Bray’s drawing horns on Seth Rollins’ portrait as he turns around like he didn’t expect the camera to be there. Goldberg talks about how he’s taking the Universal title from him. Bray says he doesn’t know him at all, and he’s not taking anything from anyone! Introduces him to his puppets who all say hello to Bill Goldberg. Apparently Abby’s looking to flirt and of course Ramblin’ Rabbit loves him. Bray has to chase him off with his gigantic mallet. Bray then says that last but not least, he knows someone who’s just dying to meet him.
The lights go down and Goldberg looks less than intimidated.
When the lights come up, Goldberg casually says that the Fiend is right behind him and turns around to see this is true. Big chant of “Goldberg”, and he plows right through him with a Spear! Goes to the corner and stalks for another as the Fiend slowly fights to his feet. But before he can go in for another, the lights go back down and the Fiend disappears.
Bray Wyatt’s laughter echoes, even though really for the first time he’s basically lost out in a segment. Bill Goldberg stands on the top rope and poses as the crowd chants his name and the laughter continues. When you think about it, Bray being happy with this is actually quite logical. He just tricked Goldberg into giving him Reverse Momentum. Now that he’s stood tall on the go-home show, there’s realistically no chance he’s taking the WWE Universal Title away from him. I guess we’ll see, but common wisdom says he’s totally losing now.
