AEW Revolution continues following that MOTY contender tag title match. Up next, we have Kris Statlander challenging Nyla Rose for the AEW World Women’s Championship! Nyla is quite intense in the ring intro.
AEW Women’s World Championship: Nyla Rose (c) vs. Kris Statlander
Staredown as we start. Lock-up, kinda shove each other away. Tie up again, Statlander backs Nyla up! Reversed though, they’re grappling for advantage. Statlander with a clean break from the ropes but Nyla with a quick side headlock! Kris with a leapfrog, wants a shoulder block but Nyla does not budge! Statlander with a headlock, Nyla shoves her off and shoulder block also doesn’t work. Nyla with a clothesline, Statlander kips up, falls and rolls and gets some polite applause. Kicks her down, flip senton, standing moonsault for 2! Nyla slams her into the corner, Statlander reverses but is sent to the apron, tries to spring in but a forearm takes her to the elevated ramp!
Nyla whips her, Kris rolls into the ring, goes for a tope but Nyla evades it and she crashes and burns on the ramp! Nyla throws her into the ring, runs through the ropes for a brutal spear for a nearfall! Short-arm Clothesline for a 2 count! Nyla hooks her, suplexes her right into the corner! Kicks her to the floor! 10 count commences, Statlander fights to her feet. “Let’s Go Kris” chant starts, Statlander rolls into the ring meekly. Nyla with stomps, Kris fights her way up with forearms! Hits the ropes, charging forearm missed, Nyla back suplexes her but she flips and lands on her feet, superkick lays her out!
Standing 10 count now. They both get to a knee and start exchanging strikes! Forearms laid in, enziguri nailed! Nyla with a falling tree sell! Kris htis the ropes, suicide dive lands flush and sends Rose right into the barrier! And now a second one! Kris throws her into the ring! Statlander up top now, Missile Dropkick! Cover for a nearfall! Charging elbow in the corner, Nyla pursues her and gets a body block! Chop to the chest, power whip, rebounds into a clothesline to the back! Rose strings her up on the top rope! Nyla up top now! Kris handstands away from the ropes! Poses on her side and blows a kiss! Nyla to the mat, charges for a kick but Kris avoids her, rolls her up for a swinging kick, boops her and covers for a nearfall!
Statlander wants to hook her for the Big Bang Theory but Nyla reverses into the STF! Kris fights to the bottom rope but Nyla pulls her to middle and reapplies it! Comes off for a running splash, Statlander with the knees up! Dropkick to the side of the head! Hits the ropes but gets taken down with a Beast Bomb for the nearfall!! Nyla Rose up top, Kris with a shot to the face to stop her! Statlander pursues, hooks her… SUPERPLEX! Nearfall! Statlander with clubbering blows, Nyla fights up though, big boot! Gets her up top! Avalanche Rana attempted, Nyla blocks it!! AVALANCHE BEAST BOMB! Stacks her up for the win!
Winner: Nyla Rose
You can see the inexperience in Statlander but still, she’s undoubtedly a crazy athlete. When she puts it together she could be very special, I have no doubts about that. In spite of some messy spots I thought that was pretty damn good.
