WWE Friday Night SmackDown rolls on. We have Braun Strowman making his way out now with the WWE Intercontinental Championship and he’s asked how it feels now that the title is finally his. Crowd starts up a “You Deserve It” chant as he looks pretty thrilled. Strowman says it gives him chills. This is the biggest accomplishment of his career. He notes that he’s done a lot of things, he’s flipped cars, he won the Greatest Royal Rumble, he even won the tag team titles with an eight-year-old at WrestleMania. But he’s never gotten to hold a singles title over his head, until now!
Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme hits. Sami says he’s sorry to cut his championship celebration short but everyone saw what happened, his win was fradulent. So he demands an honorable championship rematch. Braun says he’ll defend his title any time, any place – including right here in San Jose! Sami nods, says this is going to happen, but it won’t happen tonight and certainly not in San Jose. Says they will be smart about this, tactical. They will use every single resource they have at their disposal and they have resources…

They stomp and punch him for a while but before long, Braun fights out of the double teaming, and now he’s giving chase to Sami Zayn! He barrels through Dawson and Dash as he’s in hot pursuit of him, grabs Sami by the jacket! He pulls it off, Sami rushes into the ring and Braun follows, but Nakamura catches him with a Kinshasa!
The heels stand tall and it’s clear this one isn’t over either. I can only assume this is happening at Super Show-Down, although Sami’s Syrian descent has thus far kept him from ever appearing in Saudi Arabia. So we’ll see what happens there. Maybe it’ll have to wait until Elimination Chamber instead. Maybe Braun will get his hands on Sami before the show and take him out and that’ll be the excuse. Or perhaps it’ll just randomly happen on an episode of SmackDown like the original match did. I mean really, either/or…
