In the early days of AEW, there was a fairly big signing for their women’s division. This was Bea Priestley, who had an early feud with Britt Baker after giving her a concussion during a tag team match. She has yet to really make an impact for AEW, but that is set to change very soon.
Bea Priestley Didn’t Take A Plane From Japan Just To Participate
The main reason why Priestley has yet to take over this division is she was busy being one of the top stars in Stardom. Her nickname of Top Gaijin is because of this role, as she reigned as their top champion in 2019 and currently holds the Goddesses Of Stardom Championships with Jamie Hayter. With how much success she has been finding overseas, it is no wonder that when she comes to AEW, it is with a goal in mind. This time around, she has her eyes on the AEW Women’s Championship.
Now On The Radar Of AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose
Following a tag team victory over the team of Hikaru Shida & Kris Statlander, Bea Priestley would blindside her partner, the current AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose. This attack and her lifting the championship like she had just won it simply served to make her a marked woman. The Native Beast has been unstoppable in 2020, and anyone who gets in her way is doomed to be destroyed. This could be the fate of Bea Priestley in the coming weeks.
Priestley Could Take The AEW Women’s Championship Global
Should Bea Priestley get this match and be successful, we could see her take this championship with her to Stardom during a future tour. While former champion Riho is also involved with Stardom, it didn’t make much sense for her to bring and defend the championship there. With Priestley being the self proclaimed Top Gaijin, her bringing a foreign championship just serves to cement that point. It would make perfect sense for her character, and it would make the AEW Women’s Championship technically a world championship.
Do you think Bea Priestley could be the one to take the AEW Women’s Championship from Nyla Rose? Will she suffer the same fate as Kris Statlander and Riho? Be sure to let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
