While he is now one of the biggest stars in the wrestling industry, Jon Moxley (formerly known as Dean Ambrose of WWE) has never forgotten his roots. Once he was able to do so, he began to make appearances on the independent circuit again in addition to his contracted work with companies like New Japan Pro Wrestling & All Elite Wrestling. Moxley would work for companies like Northeast Wrestling facing Cazz XL, Pentagon Jr. & Darby Allin, and Future Stars Of Wrestling facing Killer Kross.
Jon Moxley Had Some Upcoming Indie Bookings Which Were Cancelled
With him being the All Elite Wrestling World Champion, his presence on shows like Game Changer Wrestling’s Josh Barnetts Bloodsport & Over The Top Wrestlings Scrappermania was a huge deal for these companies. While they are able to bring in big names, Moxley was the biggest possible. It’s unclear if he had more bookings like this in the coming months, but regardless it seems like not much will be happening with him outside of All Elite Wrestlig for the time being.
Major Donation From Jonathan Goode Popped Up
Most independent wrestlers will often live paycheck to paycheck, and having these jobs taken out from under their feet was a huge setback for them. Because of this, a GoFundMe was set up for fans to pitch in what they could for Over The Top Wrestling. Among donators was a man by the name of Jonathan Good, who donated €1,000 to this cause. That is of course the real life name of Jon Moxley. While he was set to be on this show, making it clear why he donated, it is still such a great thing to see.
Now Is The Time To Support Indie Wrestling
While many fans will just support major companies like WWE & AEW, it is important to not forget about smaller companies. In times like these, the talent in those huge companies have contracts with downsides that need to be paid, indie wrestlers don’t have this. OTT isn’t the only company halted by this messy situation, and if there is a smaller wrestler you support, now would be the time to see if you can even buy a t-shirt from them. Every bit helps, especially in times like these.
