WWE Friday Night SmackDown commences with Triple H introducing us to the empty Performance Center. He puts over the site as the place where WWE’s future is developed. Tonight all of the WWE’s top stars return to the Performance Center, not to train but to do what they do best and that’s put on a show. He asks us all to try and forget about the world around them as they put smiles on faces.
Out come Bayley and Sasha Banks, mockingly playing to a crowd that isn’t there. They take up a mic and say whether there are 10,000 fans or 0, they’re still the best because this is their house. Bayley laughs at the mockery of Paige, say that since she wanted to see us, where is she? They come to announce table and ask. Cole tells them that Paige is citing travel issues. They don’t say more than that but uh… she is from England. Might’ve ended up not being able to fly out.
They call them out on their excuses, when Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross come out to interrupt. They mention that they tried to call out the Kabuki Warriors but their only response was a bunch of weird tweets. So why not deal with Sasha and Bayley instead? That prompts an impromptu match.
Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Nikki Cross & Alexa Bliss
Nikki and Bayley start, Nikki lands a dropkick, tag to Alexa who slaps her down to the mat. Sasha pulls Bayley out to the floor, Nikki rushes up the stairs to leap off for a crossbody. Commercial break. The absolute silence is definitely eerie. We come back to see Bayley stomping Alexa into the corner. Slams her face into a turnbuckle pad. Sasha tags in, hits a Meteora for a nearfall. Takes her to the heel corner, tag to Bayley, double hammer whip into the corner, cover for 2. Bayley chokes her against the ropes, Sasha with a cheap shot kick to the face, cover for 2. Another tag, Banks with a charging smack. Alexa with a surprise roll-up for 2, Sasha with a dropkick.
Nikki trying to get the non-existent crowd rallying behind Alexa, Banks with a Vertical Suplex into a chinlock. Bliss fights to her feet, arm drags her away but is quickly taken down with an axe handle. Bayley tags in, shot to the gut. Headlock cinched in. Alexa fights out, Sasha tags in, Bliss ducks a shot and tags in Nikki Cross who comes in with a lot of fire, corner clothesline into a bulldog. Back elbow to Sasha off a charge, trying for a Tornado DDT but gets tossed away, Sasha tries the Meteora but gets rolled through into a 2 count, series of cradles, backslides…
Sasha taken to the corner, gets Cross to the apron but she kicks her away. Nikki goes up top, crossbody for a nearfall, Bayley has to break it up. Alexa into the ring, gives Bayley a big right hand before escaping. Asuka sneaks up from behind, tosses Alexa into the steps behind the ref’s back, Sasha gets Nikki into the Bank Statement and there is the tap.
Winners: Bayley & Sasha Banks
Boy this is going to be a weird show.
