AEW Dark continues and we barrel right on through to our next match as always! Out comes Suge D for his match with Kip Sabian. Suge seems a little interested in Penelope Ford. Sabian takes a long time kissing Penelope and keeping his back to Suge to disrespect him.
Suge D vs. Kip Sabian (w/ Penelope Ford)
Bell rings, immediate roll-up almost costs Kip! Big monkey flip sends Sabian flying! Suge has a headlock in, Kip stomps the foot to get out of it, Suge rushes around to avoid Sabian’s offense, cartwheels behind him and just gives him a smack on the ass. Sabian is angered, goes to try and untie the turnbuckle pad, giving Penelope Ford time to attack Suge! This lets Kip take over, he grinds Suge into the corner. Kip distracts the ref again as Ford chokes him against the middle rope. Sabian grabs the wrist, whip to the opposite corner, enziguri kick, roll-through into a Shining Wizard for a nearfall!
Sabian whips him to the opposite corner, charges, Suge rolls out of the way, gets to the apron, tries a forearm but Kip ducks it, Springboard Roundhouse Kick! Pulls him out for a rope-assisted Twisting Neckbreaker for a nearfall! Suge fights him into the corner, arm drags him away, slips between his legs, blocks a kick and spins him around, big right hand to the face. Continually escapes, very slippery, Rolling Elbow for a narrow nearfall! Suge goes up top, Sabian stops him with a roundhouse to the head! Half N Half Suplex, Russian Legsweep into a Ground Octopus Hold and Suge quickly submits!
Winner: Kip Sabian
Really enjoying the vibe of this, a lot of fresh names and faces I’ve never seen before getting to come and do their usual gimmicks, work like they work. Suge didn’t technically do a whole lot but it was fun seeing him do one fast paced slippery escape after another, just coming across entirely untouchable at times. It’s different from what everyone else does, it’s kinda neat.
But of course it’s ultimately a fairly easy win for Kip Sabian who as I mentioned in the previews is slowly getting himself ingrained into prime time with AEW. He’s kicked up a feud with the newly arrived Colt Cabana and he should be getting more momentum until they face off. When that happens it should be a lot of fun.
