AEW Dark continues, we now have Tony Schiavone and Dasha Gonzalez in front of a charmingly obvious greenscreen as always. Tony’s got a Dustin Rhodes shirt on today. They run down the current champions and suggest we might be getting an update on the injured hand of Kenny Omega soon. Now, out come the Hybrid-2, Jack Evans and Angelico trying to reset their losing streak against Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa.
TH2 (The Hybrid-2 | Jack Evans & Angelico) vs. Brandon Cutler & Michael Nakazawa
Before the bell, there’s a shoving match. Evans surprises Cutler with a flying spin kick! Bell rings, TH2 isolate Nakazawa in the corner. Quick “Nakazawa” chant, handspring back elbow, Side Slam/Double Footstomp combo for a nearfall! Evans gets him with a body slam, tags out. Angelico with a couple of punches, leg kick, trip into a complicated leglock, transitioned into a head trap. I tried to figure out what Excalibur was calling it but I just seem to confirm anything and I know I’d mis-spell it.
Evans tags in, chant for Aubrey Edwards. Nakazawa tries to fight his way up, catches a kick but Evans gets him with a Corkscrew Kick. Crucifix locked in, tag to Angelico, Nak didn’t see it. Angelico gets him with a knee lift to the gut, needlessly flashy arm wringer cinched in. Nakazawa digs into the trunks and pulls out the Turkish oil! Sprays it over Angelico to slip out of the hold and escape! But he clobbers him into the mat. TH2 want a double suplex, but more oil causes them to fall to the mat!
Nakazawa wants the tag but Angelico grabs him by the ankle, so he sprays a little more to escape one more time and he makes the hot tag! Cutler rushes around the ring, almost slipping himself as he takes out both men, flying forearm to Evans, back suplex to Angelico, slingshots Evan onto his own partner, Springboard Forearm to Evans! Huge spinning full nelson slam, Angelico breaks up the pin! Very nice sequence.
Cutler spins Angelico around on the apron, ducks a kick from Evans and gets him with a roundhouse of his own, springboard legdrop to the head of Angelico, flying kick to Evans, clothesline flips him inside out, suicide dive to Angelico! Springboard Elbow Drop, Evans matrixes out just barely! Tag to Nakazawa, Evans bathed in oil, Double Slipping Legdrop! Cutler holds Evan up, Nakazawa tries to spit some oil but Evans dodges and it goes into Cutler’s face! Angelico dropkicks Nak into Cutler to take him to the floor, Evans with an Asai Moonsault to Cutler! Angelico gets Nakazawa up in the corner, running Razor’s Edge into the corner! 630 from Evans for the win!
