The Steiner legacy will be placed on hold for a while longer, as Bronson Rechsteiner has been signed to the NFL Team the Baltimore Ravens. He is the son of Rick Steiner, the somehow more balanced half of the iconic tag team, who mastered the flying bulldog and once feuded with the evil doll Chucky in WCW. He will be playing the Fullback position, and his success is not guaranteed on the team as that role is currently filled by Patrick Ricard. Could we eventually see him carry on his fathers legacy in the ring should football not work out?
Bronson Rechsteiner Has His Fathers Strength
At Kennesaw State’s pro day in early March, Rechsteiner recorded 35 reps on the bench press, which would have been the third-best at the NFL combine. This shows that he absolutely has the freakish strength that the Steiner family is known for. Add in the insane agility most football players have, and it wouldn’t be hard to get him into the ring. Rechsteiner had led the Kennesaw State Owls with 909 yards rushing and averaged 8.1 yards per attempt in 2019.
Speaking On Being Drafted To The NFL & Professional Wrestling
He spoke on being drafted for the NFL, but hasn’t denounced his wrestling legacy. “It doesn’t take an expert to know that wrestling is in my bloodline. I’ve grown up in a wrestling family, and that was the vision — go to school and go be a wrestler like my dad and uncle (Scott Steiner). But God changed that path for me. I’m enjoying the process and keeping my head down and staying prepared. It’d be a blast man. I’m super thankful to be in this position that I’m in. It’s crazy, to be honest with you. Never in a million years did I think I’d be in a position to be drafted or play in the NFL.”
He mentioned to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley that should NFL not work out for him, professional wrestling will be his next destination. This would be a similar path to many others, notable Roman Reigns who failed to make an impact in the NFL or CFL before heading to Florida to start his wrestling career.
