WWE Friday Night SmackDown continues. Big E talks up the unique challenge of being one man going after titles designed for two. Says he is not alone because his brothers Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston are always giving him their power and tonight they become tag team champions yet again. The triple threat match featuring him, Jey Uso and The Miz is our main event tonight.
But first… Elias is making his way down to the arena when King Corbin jumps him! He nails him with kidney shots, and wedges his hand between two crates, crushing it! Corbin grabs his guitar and tells him to play him a song. But then he says he’s got a better idea. Grabs him by the wrist and drags him across the floor.
After a commercial break, they’re… in a different part of backstage where Corbin keeps attacking Elias’ hand. He has a mic complete with a mic stand and demands the Elias sing his song. He drives the mic into Elias’ throat. Tells him that he’ll bow down to his king before slamming the mic stand into his head. Elias is wheezing and selling like his throat has been injured as Corbin just walks off with his crown. Elias slowly struggles to his feet and Corbin says he might need his guitar, before shattering it across his back for good measure. And now, our main event…
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Triple Threats: The Miz (c) vs. Big E vs. Jey Uso
E with an overhead belly to belly to Miz immediately, he has to bail! E and Uce pursue, E gets Jey with a belly to belly as well! He happily talks up a big plan he has as he strips down the announce table but Miz and Jey cut him off, a double suplex sends the big man right through the table! Commercial break. As we come back, Jey with a series of suicide dives to both men! Takes the Miz into the ring, Crossbody off the top for a nearfall! E comes in but gets taken down with an enziguri! Umaga style Hip Attacks to both men, E with a counter Uranage!
Miz attacks E from behind, gets him with a second rope double axe handle! Wants a Skull Crushing Finale but E back elbows his way out of it, Jey with a couple of superkicks, covers E for a nearfall! Jey with a small package and then a roll-up on Miz, but a Skull Crushing Finale is nailed and of course Jey kicks out. It’s the least successful finish in WWE history. Miz with the Figure Four Leglock now though, and has it cinched in for a while… Big E comes in and pulls Miz up off the canvas, Big Ending! Jey rolls from the ring as E covers and gets the win! Okay then.
Winner: Big E
E celebrates with the titles as we see a clip of Kofi Kingston watching and going crazy for it, does a Fink impression with the AND NEWWWW call in tribute. I guess that is a pretty good reason to do a title switch. We even see a clip of Xavier Woods and he does much the same.
