This opening match was fun, exciting, and better than the other opening Pro Wrestling Revolution matches covered thus far on The Overtimer.
Pro Wrestling Revolution held an event on February 22, 2020, in San Jose, California that is well worth watching from start to finish. The opening contest saw Dr Salvaje, Zuca, and Bjorn (w/Kayoka) against Chamuco, Vandolo Jr, and Karisma — who seems to be the former ring announcer for Pro Wrestling Revolution.
This opening match was fun, exciting, and better than the other opening Pro Wrestling Revolution matches covered thus far on The Overtimer. Karisma showed off some Lucha Libre technique after she and Salvaje played to the crowd for a minute or two. Salvaje, who cut a promo before the beginning of the match seemed to be the leader of his Rudo (Heel) team.
The festive environment continued with Chamuco and Vandolo Jr gaining advantages during the match. However, everything turned around when Kayoko distracted Vandolo, leading Salvaje to getting the pinfall. Immediately after Papo Esco, who is in the marquee match later in the evening attacked Chamuco, Valandolo, staff, and a referee. He held Karisma by the hair while he cut a promo on El Texano Jr and Psycho Clown — Esco’s opponents in the tag team main event.
Esco would eventually let Karisma go, who immediately ran to the back for safety. The live audience was livid with Esco for his dastardly antics, all because he wanted his opponents to know that he’s the ‘biggest star Pro Wrestling Revolution has ever seen.’
The match is worth seeing for how sharp Karisma looked in what could have been one of her first ever matches during an event, despite not spending a lot of time in the ring she was impressive when she was. Esco did a good job putting over the marquee match and the importance of Texano Jr and Psycho Clown visiting.
The entire event can be seen on FITE.
