The marquee match (main event) of the November 16, 2019, Pro Wrestling Revolution (PWR) event in San Francisco, California saw Border Patrol’s JR Kratos face off against LA Park (Original La Parka of Lucha Libre AAA/World Championship Wrestling). However, Border Patrol member
Sparky Ballard being assigned as referee guaranteed this match wouldn’t have neutral officiating.
Those familiar with brawls in Lucha Libre AAA (AAA) will immediately understand the flow of this match. Sparky Ballard got involved, attacked LA Park, altered his count depending on who was attempting a fall, and took a beating from LA Park as well.
JR Kratos did well for himself and continues to show that he would be a quality long-term signing for any of the major promotions across the world. While Kratos has made ten appearances for All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) in 2020, it’s yet to be determined if he’ll be able to return after COVID-19 is flattened around the world.
There wasn’t any fineness to the match, with the two exchanging brawling techniques throughout in-between interactions with Sparky Ballard. The finish of the match saw the other Border Patrol member, Colt Stevens run out to attack LA Park; however, Hijo de LA Park came out to make the save for his dad.
JR Kratos would get the win after a low blow and quick count from Sparky Ballard. After the match, LA Park stayed in the ring and thanked the crowd while his son stood there with him. The last several years have seen Park make a career resurgence after his 50th birthday, becoming an in-demand character for high-level United States independent promotions, Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), and Lucha Libre AAA (AAA). Those who are fans of his, and want to see an old-fashioned brawl will enjoy this contest.
The entire event can be seen on FITE.
