WWE Friday Night SmackDown rolls on. We see Lacey Evans backstage reminding us of her feud with Sasha Banks and how she still has unfinished business with her. She takes off her glove to show that Sasha’s name is written with a cancel sign on the back of her hand. Then out comes Sheamus for another squash.
Sheamus vs. Denzel Dejournette
Sheamus immediately drives Denzel into the corner, Denzel surprises him with an Oklahoma Roll for a quick 2. Sheamus is angered by this, gets him down to the mat and drives elbow after elbow after elbow into the back of his head. Follows up with several more knees to the side of the head. Stalks, poses, yells and there’s the Brogue Kick for the incredibly easy victory.
Winner: Sheamus
Afterwards, as Sheamus is celebrating, Michael Cole is trying to transition to talking about Jeff Hardy and Sheamus is upset. Slamming his hand on the announce desk and telling him he shouldn’t be talking about Jeff Hardy when he’s the most dominant performer on the show. Tells him he won’t be disrespected and, of course, caps it off with a “Fella”.
Part 2 of the Jeff Hardy documentary touches on his issues. It talks about the pain he was in due to his many injuries and reckless style. They also talk about his drug addiction, particularly focusing on pain pills. Even show some clips of videos he made of himself whilst intoxicated. They go into his arrests which spanned from 2009 to 2018. His friends like Christian, the Big Show and Samoa Joe talk about how they wanted to help him but found that they couldn’t. Jeff admits that jail scares the hell out of him and calls it hitting rock bottom. Chapter Three is next week and it’s called The Redemption.
Not gonna lie, Jeff’s had a lot of those. But that’s kind of the thing about addiction, you don’t really just beat it once. Most people don’t, atleast, you kinda have to do it over and over.
Backstage, Carmella is bickering at Dana Brooke, angry that she’s competing in the MITB qualifiers when they have a Women’s tag title match to look forward to. ‘Mella wants her to focus on the team. Dana tells her that she believes she can do both, qualify for MITB and also become a tag champion all at once. She takes on Naomi in said qualifier up next.
