At Money In The Bank, we saw the one person no one expected to walk away with the briefcase. Otis, one half of Heavy Machinery would be left standing with the briefcase after AJ Styles & Baron Corbin fumbled it. He didn’t even have to climb the ladder, and has walked away with the biggest prize of all. Otis now has a guaranteed title shot, and is exploring more options than just the WWE Universal Championship. He has considered using it to give him and Tucker a shot at The New Day and the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships, Another option has now been offered, as NXT Champion Adam Cole has called him out.
Adam Cole Addresses This Threat On The Bump
The weekly WWE program, The Bump has become a source of announcements from the company, and often will feature interviews from both past and current talent. This week it was home to the longest reigning NXT Champion of all time, Adam Cole. Having just defeated Velveteen Dream in his 10th title defense, he is on the way to a full year as NXT Champion. There is a looming threat now however, as NXT has become a major brand in WWE. During Survivor Series, NXT would impress and win the night, with Roderick Strong & Shayna Baszler winning major title matches and the Women of NXT showed their dominance beating RAW & Smackdown.
Due to this increased presence, Cole could have a looming threat in Otis. However, he is ready for this. “Anything can happen in the WWE I think at this point. Whether you’re from RAW, Smackdown or NXT I think people look at me as one of the most dominant champions in modern history. I mean look the records I’ve broken. the people I’ve beaten! So, very much so. I could see someone like Otis maybe deciding to challenge me for my NXT championship. I think that’d be a giant mistake and I think he would instantly regret that decision, but I’m always ready to go. And that’s why I got my boys with me: Bobby, Kyle and Roddy, they let me know what’s going on. So, yeah, I’m ready for anything man, ready for anything.”
Would Otis go back to NXT to properly start his career as a singles star by knocking off the best NXT Champion of all time? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
