A few weeks ago following his first round match with Daniel Bryan, fans were shocked to see Drew Gulak moved to the alumni section of WWE.com. It was later reported that his contract had expired, with negotions on-going as Gulak wanted a raise. This raise would make sense, as Gulak has had a rapid rise within WWE in 2020, going from essentially a jobber into an upper midcard star with his involvement with Daniel Bryan. Many are still calling their clash from Elimination Chamber the best WWE match of the year. However, worries have now been aleviated for his fans.
Drew Gulak Is Now Listed As An Active Wrestler In WWE Again
Early in the morning following the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, Drew Gulak was added to the active wrestler section on WWE.com once again. We can easily presume that this means Gulak has signed a new deal with WWE, and will be staying with the company going forward.
What Will His Next Move Be?
We can expect him to remain on Smackdown alongside Daniel Bryan. With Bryan a likely winner of the Intercontential Championship tournament, we could see them enter a longer feud over this title. Another likely winner is AJ Styles, who would easily have some excellent matches with a wrestler the caliber of Gulak. It is easy to assume that Gulak will keep his large push that he was getting before his quiet removal, and we could see him even become a worthy challenger for the WWE Universal Championship by this time next year. Fans have long liked Gulak, ever since his Powerpoint gimmick on 205 Live, and he has only gotten more and more popular.
Another good option would be Daniel Bryan & Drew Gulak going for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships, currently held by Kofi Kingston & Big E of The New Day. Bryan wanted to bring the Tag Titles to the main event during his partnership with Erick Rowan, and he could achieve that with Gulak. The Smackdown Tag Team division has loads of potential currently, with teams like Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party and Forgotten Sons being built up.
