WWE Friday Night SmackDown rolls on and it’s time again for our weekly Sheamus Squash.
Sheamus vs. Leon Ruff
Sheamus shoves Ruff to the floor. Ruff hits a charging big boot but it’s no sold, Sheamus grabs Ruff who desperately tries to fight out with back elbows to the face only for Sheamus to nail him with three straight Irish Curse Backbreakers before finally throwing him out of the ring! Sheamus is staring daggers at Michael Cole. Sheamus pulls Ruff up to the apron, Ten Beats of The Bowery, poor Ruff collapses to the apron. Slings him across the ring, poses and nails him with the Brogue Kick for the very easy victory.
Winner: Sheamus
It sure is easy to make his squashes fun. He just beats the hell out of these poor guys. Sheamus then slides out of the ring and confronts Michael Cole, already knowing that he’s about to talk about Jeff Hardy. And whaddya know, they went and scheduled the next part of the Hardy doc for this very next segment! Cole has to admit to him that it’s the case and we see a video talking about the injury Jeff received over a year ago now. No mention of Lars Sullivan, who in-storyline is the one that injured him, or atleast he attacked him while he was injured to make it all the worse. We then get a highlights package, which for him is never a hard thing to assemble. Jeff thanks the fans, talking about how comforting it is for him to know that no matter what happens, they will always be there for him, always supportive.
And honestly that seems pretty legit to me because it’s true, Jeff Hardy has maybe the most loyal fanbase in wrestling considering all the twists and turns of his career, the innumerable amount of times he’s screwed up. It ends with saying that Jeff Hardy will be here next week. It kinda seems like they’re pretending this is his actual return, as if his match with King Corbin ahead of WrestleMania didn’t even happen. Sheamus is still listening and says if Jeff will be here next week, then so will he. Pretty clear that this is gonna be a volatile confrontation. Built this up pretty nicely I’d say, I’m interested to see where this one is going.
